MAORI POI BALLS

The Maori people of Aotearoa (New Zealand) use poi balls to tell the stories of their people.  The balls themselves are made of sponge and/or paper, and are wrapped in plastic or cloth.  They are attached to yarn and are swung around to the music.

Maori poi balls may be used as a single or double, and either short or long.  The most difficult combination of these is the double short poi.
